Miami,
Florida. This is the most
prestigious 3-Cushion Billiard event held in
the Southeastern USA. It was first organized
in the year 2000. Previous
winners include Adolfo Zunino (Chile), Carlos
Hallon (USA), Roberto Arana (Nicaragua) Luis
Miguel Avila (Mexico) and Dion Nelin (Denmark).
Other
previous participants: Gerhard Kontistanski (Austria),
Pierre Cornelissen, Ed Verbert (Belgium), Ramon
Rodriguez (Peru), Roberto Rojas, Guillermo Soza,
Dionisio Cid, Carlos Barrasa, Jose Paniagua,
Armando Breton (from Mexico), Javier Teran and
Jorge Rubio (Ecuador), Mazin Shooni, Pedro Piedrabuena,
Adrian Viguera, Michael Kang, Sonny Cho, Hugo
Patino, Miguel Torres (USA), Humberto Cuadra
and Francisco Taylor (Nicaragua) and other players
of international recognition.
The
tournament host is Hernando Pineres, owner of
New Wave Billiards, one of the most distinguished
billiard room in the country. Players from different
countries take advantage of this annual event
to visit Florida. Many of them travel from countries
as far away as Korea, Japan, Denmark, The Netherlands,
Belgium and other European countries. Latin America
is usually represented by players from Peru,
Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Colombia
and other South and Central American countries.
In addition to all the amenities provided by
the city, the trip to Miami offers a good opportunity
for advanced christmas shopping. This year's
event will include a class A and B category.
This format will provide more excitement and
opportunity for those who do not qualify for
the top positions of the qualification round.
USBA
Sanctioned Tournament - All Players must be current
members of the USBA or members of a foreign billiard
organization. Participation is open to anyone
for a fee.
Format:
Based on 48 Players
Preliminaries: Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Playing will start Tuesday
13th immediately after Players Meeting

Top two (2) from each group
advance to the Class "A" Finals
The remaining best two players form each group, advance
to the "B" Finals
