New
York, NY. USA - For five consecutive years,
the best players in the world will be showcasing
the most prestigious 3-Cushion billiard tournament
in the American Continent. This event is the
equivalent to World Cup Events previously held
by the World Cup Association and now under
the auspices of the Union Mundiale de Billard.
Carom Cafe, located in Flushing, New York is
the organizer of this magnanimus event.
The tournament is
dedicated to the best U.S. 3-Cushion player
of modern times, Mr. Sang Chun Lee, who established
an all time record wining the U.S. Championship
11 consecutive years. A native of South Korea who
emigrated to the United States in 1987 became
the first American to win the World Championship
in the past 40 years. On May 15th, he
was recently inducted in the Billiard Congress
Hall of Fame.

This tournament is "first-come-first-served"
- meaning that the first 80 players who
pay their entree fee in full will be guaranteed
a spot in the qualifications. If more than
80 players wish to inscribe, the tournament
may include the additional players. The format
may be midified with a possible increase
in the prize fund.
The semifinals
round includes 30 qualifiers from the preliminary
round plus five players that are seeded directly
into the Semifinal round of the tournament.
The seeded players include
the top three finishers of last year's event.
They are: Fréderic Caudron, Torbjorn Blomdahl
and Semih Sayginer. The current #1 player
in the world according to the UMB standings
- Danny Sánchez; and one seed as determined
by the host organizer - The legendary Raymond
Ceulemans. In addition, the finals will include
three auction and two lotto winners.
We

schedules and results of the upcoming tournament.
